Called to the Bar in 2025, Jenna du Preez accepts briefs in criminal defence, prosecution, domestic violence, child protection, family law, migration and administrative law. She has a particular interest in matters involving vulnerable clients and those with traumatic or prejudicial upbringings.
Admitted as a solicitor in 2015, Jenna built a diverse practice across private firms and government roles, most recently at Legal Aid Queensland. Her work has centred on criminal defence with appearances from the Magistrates Court through to the Court of Appeal.
A regular duty lawyer, Jenna has appeared in over 200 sentences and more than 100 bail applications in the Magistrates Court, honing strong advocacy skills. She’s several appearances as solicitor advocate in the District and Supreme Court including in breach hearings, bail applications, and appeals.
Her experience extends to migration matters involving visa applications, refusals and cancellations, as well as domestic violence, child protection, parenting and property disputes. Jenna also has experience as a former employee of Queensland Corrective Services.
