Simon holds an LLB from the University of Queensland, which he attained in 1981.
He subsequently joined the Queensland Bar in 1983, commencing in practice as a barrister based in Brisbane. He was made Queens Counsel in 1993.
Simon’s practice is principally in the area of commercial law, which spans such diverse areas as:
- Contract Disputes;
- Corporate Law;
- Insurance;
- Professional Indemnity (where he acts for lawyers, engineers, builders, surveyors and architects).
Simon also conducts a significant practice in the area of competition law. He is regularly briefed in this area by the ACCC.
He appears regularly in complex commercial proceedings in Queensland and New South Wales.
