Steven has a commercial dispute resolution practice. He appears in State and Federal Courts and tribunals at both trial and appellate levels.
Steven has a particular focus in the areas of corporations law, financial services, administrative law, contracts, equity, insolvency and professional negligence. He also has experience in representative proceedings (“class actions”).
Prior to coming to the bar in 2013, Steven was a solicitor for 16 years.
During that time he served in a number of roles, including:
- as general counsel and company secretary of a financial services company;
- senior associate at Deacons (now Norton Rose) and at Piper Alderman;
- the principal solicitor of a Community Legal Centre (Refugee and Immigration Legal Service Inc); and
- as a principal solicitor with the Queensland Department of Resources.
Steven also served as the Associate to the Honourable Mr Justice Derrington of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
