Jessica has well over two decades of experience in insurance litigation with particular specialty in personal injuries litigation. She commenced practice as a barrister in Brisbane in 2005.
Jessica represents both plaintiffs and defendants, and is a panel barrister for various CTP and general insurers, the Workers’ Compensation Regulatory Authority, WorkCover Queensland, Crown Law and a number of self-insurers. She regularly appears in all Queensland courts, the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission and coronial inquests.
Prior to commencing practice at the Bar, Jessica undertook five-year articles of clerkship, and held the position of senior associate with prominent litigation firms MurphySchmidt Solicitors and Jensen McConaghy Solicitors. She was a Queensland Law Society accredited specialist in personal injuries law.
Jessica also practices in estate litigation, industrial disputes and professional negligence.
Jessica is a nationally accredited mediator. Though mediations are commonly conducted during litigation, Jessica’s experience in employment and industrial law provides her with the skills to undertake mediation in the context of workplace and other disputes, with a view to avoiding litigation.
Jessica was recognised as a pre-eminent Queensland barrister in the area of Insurance and Personal Injuries by Doyle’s Guide in 2016.
