Katrina practices predominantly in the areas of:
- estate and trust litigation (including contested probate, family provision, will construction and rectification, statutory wills, and informal wills);
- medical negligence;
- professional negligence (including D & O Liability);
- workers’ compensation;
- public and product liability (including related insurance law matters of policy and contract interpretation, questions on indemnity and contribution); and
- administrative law (including judicial review).
Katrina has been recognised as a Leading Wills and Estates Litigation Junior Counsel Queensland (Recommended) 2019 and 2020 in Doyle’s Guide. Most recently, Katrina was ranked as Leading Estates Litigation Junior Counsel (Recommended) in 2021, Queensland and Australia-wide.
She regularly appears in contested applications, trials, mediations and conferences. She is a member of Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners, the Australian Insurance Lawyers Association, and the Australian Society of Legal Philosophy. Katrina also provides pro bono services to Caxton Legal Centre, Law Right and the Animal Law Institute.
Katrina holds undergraduate degrees in Law (Hons) and Psychological Science, an LLM (Applied Law), and a PhD in Law.
